Drawing Print
Friedrich Barthel Drawing/Painting print.?
I have a drawn/painted print of “Der Altstadtmarkt Mit Der Martiniklrche zu Brawnschweig” by Friedrich Barthel. The names that are signatured on it are F. Barthel del. and C Frommel sculp. Is this worth anything?
If it is a print it can not be a drawing or a painting. All it can be is a printed reproduction of an actual original artwork. That’s why a print is a print.
However, prints can have some value if:
The artist is a well know and established artist AND the print is a signed, limited edition print of the original artwork.
I tried to locate any information for you but could only find this one site that listed anything by this artist. I hope this helps you in some way:

However, for an artist who died in 1846 it’s not likely he authorized any signed, limited edition runs of prints because it wasn’t common practice to do this until after WWII.
Hopefully I’m wrong and you have a signed, limited edition reproduction of his. Just remember, if it does not bear his obvious signature (C. Frommel doesn’t count because he wasn’t the artist) then all it is is just a reproduction.
